Workshops
Many of the workshops and projects I deliver are for individual organisations, schools or communities. However, here you can find all my public workshops that are open to everyone. I look forward to meeting you at one of them soon.

I hope to begin teaching workshops in person from May 17th, step 3 of the Government’s road map. I am still delivering some workshops via Zoom. Please see below for more information about upcoming workshops and how to take part.

Workshops are a bit different but they are still filled with lots of creativity and fun! Below is a quick overview of what to expect:
Before the Workshop
Please bring a face covering
Please bring as few belongings as possible
Please only come to the workshop if you are feeling well
At the Workshop
Please wear a face covering unless exempt
Please sanitise your hands on entering
Please observe social distancing
Workshop groups will be smaller if needed in a venue
Please follow written or verbal guidance throughout the workshop
You will be asked to leave your details for NHS Track and Trace
Please have lots of fun!

Looms at Sunny Bank Mills - Cushion Cover
Saturday 29th May 2021 10:00 - 16:00
Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley
The looms will be set up and ready for a fun introduction to the basics of weaving. The workshop will enable you to weave sufficient fabric to either make, the front of a cushion cover or enough fabric to applique onto an existing cover. This workshop is all about gaining confidence when using colour in your weaving as this can transform your outcomes. Looms at Sunny Bank Mills - Refresher Weekend Weaving Course

Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley
This short course is aimed at those that would like a refresher. Maybe you learnt to weave a few years ago or have a loom in a loft but need a bit of a reminder of how to get started. This intense 2 day course will cover the full process of how to set up a loom through to weaving a final outcome. You will learn how to design and make a warp and how to dress the loom. You will also select and input the pattern you wish to use into the dobby. You will be rewarded for your hard work by weaving a short project. Rag Rug Brooch Workshop

Enjoy learning how to use a rag rug technique to create a flower brooch. You will be able to choose from a wide range of fabrics enabling you to create your own bespoke outcome whilst exploring how to combine different colours as well as creating different petal shapes. This workshop takes you through the process of designing and making a warp and how to dress the loom. This workshop may be of interest to those who have a loom at home but have forgotten how to add a warp to their loom, and are keen to begin weaving once again. Hessian Ribbon Cushion Cover

Join us as we use hessian as the base for creating our 14 inch square cushion. We will use a large variety of lovely colourful ribbons in different widths allowing you to create your own bespoke design. Please note the inner cushion pad is not included for this workshop. Monthly Mini Make at Midday - Needle Felted Stars via Zoom

Join us for this mini workshop where we will be learning the basics of needle felting whilst also creating our own needle felted stars. Looms at Sunny Bank Mills - Beginner's Weaving Course
Every Friday beginning 2nd July 2021 for 5 weeks 10:00 - 13:00
Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley
Perfect course for those who would like to develop their weaving more. You may be a complete beginner or have worked on a peg or rigid heddle loom but are keen to develop your skills. The looms will be set up and warped so there is plenty of time to concentrate on weaving! Each of the looms will be set with a different pattern so that you can explore a different technique, (e.g. plain weave, twill) by rotating around, before weaving a final project in the last 2 weeks. Drop Spindle Spinning Workshop
Friday 3rd September 10:30 - 16:30
Just Makers, Ripley
Learn to spin on a drop spindle. This workshop is perfect for those who love the idea of being able to introduce their own bespoke spun elements into their craft projects. You will learn how to spin as well as how to use the Andean plying method to ply your spun yarn together. Peg Loom Weaving - Woven Cushion Cover Top

This workshop is perfect for beginners to design and weave their own unique cushion top using a peg loom. You will have access to a large range of different yarns as well as exploring some different techniques. Christmas Festive Workshops 2021
Christmas workshops are always hugely popular each year.
You might like to join in a workshop taking place at different venues across Yorkshire or have your own private workshop with friends or family. These can either be in person or kits can be posted out with the workshop taking place over Zoom.
